Families will find new places for kids of all ages to play and explore when making the trip to Northbrook Court this fall. Northbrook Play, a new 4,000 square foot museum-quality children’s experience is expected to open soon, offering interactive stations for kids of all ages to play, imagine and explore. The whimsical, nature-themed play area will be free of charge for guests.
Located on the second floor, near the famous Northbrook Court tree house, the space was created in partnership with the Chicago Children’s Museum and Luci Creative, a Chicago-based full-service museum master planning and exhibit design firm.
Similar to a children’s museum exhibit, Northbrook Play will offer a variety of different play zones for different age groups and interests, including areas for kids to dress up, places to climb, a nest for pre-walkers to explore, a terrain area, workshop, hideouts and a family room. “The space is intended to instill confidence in young guests as they interact with the different areas,” according to the official announcements. A special feature of the space will be the constant rearrangement of objects so that the space changes by the hour, so each time a visitor returns, it will be a new experience.
Stroller parking space will be available, as well as a lounge space for caregivers to relax. A workshop area will offer program-ready space for facilitated events and activities for children of all ages.
