Chamber Introduces Memberships for Emerging Entrepreneurs
What do Facebook, WordPress, Subway Restaurants, and Yankee Candle have in common? All these businesses were started by teenage entrepreneurs. The Northbrook Chamber is now encouraging the next generation of business owners with a special membership designed for ages 13-20.
The new Emerging Entrepreneur membership offers marketing, networking, and mentorship support for young business owners as they begin their professional journeys. They will have the opportunity to promote their businesses through the Chamber’s platforms and at select Chamber events.
“Young professionals are the future of our organization,” notes Kathi Quinn, Chamber Executive Director. “Nurturing startup owners, even at a young age, is the heart and soul of the Chamber’s mission and adds vibrancy to our membership. We’re excited to see what these individuals are bringing to the business community.”
The Chamber’s first Emerging Entrepreneur member, DNA Detailing, is owned by 2023 Glenbrook North graduate Aaron Mages. Aaron launched his on-call auto detailing service in 2022 and intends to continue the enterprise this fall, managing his employees remotely while he attends the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. The son of long-time Chamber member and business owner Dori Mages, North Shore Family Services PLLC, Aaron knew about the value of Chamber membership.
“I like being able to meet other business owners and learn from them, and at the same time putting my name out there for people who want car detailing services,” says Aaron. He is looking forward to introducing himself as a hole sponsor at this year’s Golf Outing. “My goal is to try and grow this business as much as possible, and then see what comes next.”
