Applications Open for Chamber Board of Directors
September 29, 2024
Interested in taking a leadership role for the Chamber organization? The Board of Directors’ Nominating Committee will review applications in early October to fill Board vacancies for 2025. Directors contribute perspectives from a wide range of business sizes and industries in order to represent our diverse membership. Download an application here.
Board members commit to a three-year term and are expected to attend monthly meetings, participate in Chamber events, assist in fundraising and promote the benefits of the organization to prospective members and the community. Board meetings take place on the second Thursday of the month from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. During these meetings, Directors have the opportunity to hear updates from the Village, Library, Park District and School District 28 before reviewing reports on the Chamber’s financial status, new memberships, programming plans, and other topics.
Board applications are available year-round on the Chamber website and must be submitted by October 5 to be considered for a 2025 position. A nominations committee has been considering all applications and will present a slate of nominees at the October 10 Board meeting.
If approved by the Board, the names of nominees will be circulated to the full membership by email. Alternative nominations may be made within ten days of that publication by submitting petitions signed by five percent of the full NCCI membership. If no alternative nominations are received in that period, the slate will be considered elected at the November 14 Board meeting and new Directors will begin their terms of office in January 2025.
Board participation is just one way that members can become involved in supporting the organization. For more information about the Ambassador program, Committees, Foundation, volunteer activities, and other opportunities, contact Executive Director Kathi Quinn, kathi@northbrookchamber.org.
