Leadership Northbrook, a Chamber initiative to increase civic awareness and engagement, will return in September after a pandemic-related hiatus. Participants will meet for eight monthly sessions to learn about governmental bodies, non-profit organizations, and leading businesses that shape our community.
Launched in 1986, Leadership Northbrook traditionally has involved a wide variety of site visits, ranging from “backstage” views of the police station, water treatment plant, and other public entities to exclusive tours of major businesses like UL, Bernhard Woodwork, and Wiss, Janney, Elstner & Associates. Some of the past programs may need to be adapted for COVID-era health safety needs, but the overriding goal will remain the same: participants will gain an appreciation of the unique assets that contribute to Northbrook’s vitality, and will be inspired to get involved in the Village’s future needs.
Applications are now available for a limited number of spots. Sessions will meet on the second Friday morning each month, beginning September 10. A registration fee of $250 covers program expenses. Spaces will be filled on a rolling basis. Contact Chamber President Tensley Garris, (847) 513-6006 with questions.
