Due to a variety of challenges beyond our control, the Chamber has postponed the Annual Auction & Taste Fundraiser previously announced for October 25. The decision was made in consultation with the event’s 19-member Planning Committee and Chamber Board leadership. Based on ongoing changes to safety regulations, restaurant staffing shortages, and other obstacles, it would be impossible to plan and deliver an event comparable to previous Auctions.
For now, alternative events and rescheduling options are under consideration.
“This was both an obvious decision and a difficult one,” commented Board Chair Bob Caldwell. “As much as we all enjoy this wonderful Chamber tradition, we simply could not move forward with our sponsors and restaurants while the public health situation is so uncertain. The safety of our members and their families has to be our top priority. We will look forward to holding the event in the future, and in the meantime we welcome creative ideas to help us meet our vital fundraising goals for the organization.”
