Kohl Children’s Museum will hold the 12th annual Touch A Truck Family Festival fundraiser at NIPSTA in Glenview on Sunday, May 6, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Kids will be able to safely climb super-sized vehicles and enjoy food, raffles, train rides, music and other entertainment. The Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center’s Young Professionals Committee presents the third annual Race for Humanity 5K on Sunday, May 6. This city-wide race supports the Museum’s mission to empower individuals to speak out against hatred, prejudice, and indifference. Northbrook Park District’s highly regarded annual Northbrook on Ice program “Skate To Success” returns for four performances over Mother’s Day weekend May 11 – 13. The annual tradition has featured thousands of skaters in the community and received an Outstanding Special Event Award from the Illinois Park and Recreation Association. The American Cancer Society (ACS) offers “May is for Moms” fundraisers at two Northbrook restaurants. Northbrook/Glenview School District 30 will host the 18th annual Lew Blond Memorial 5K Run/Walk raising funds to support research to fight Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS) on Saturday, May 19, 8:00 a.m. at Maple School. Chamber members are invited to attend the Glenbrook North High School Business Incubator Program “Pitch Night” on Wednesday, May 23, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Four teams of students will make presentations in a “Shark Tank” like setting in a competition to receive funding for their project.
