Celebrate the Holiday Season in Northbrook

Many stores will have extended holiday hours; there will be festive decorations, and the sounds of the season will fill the air this upcoming holiday season.

Northbrook Court features extended shopping hours and a number of special photo opportunities in December.  To make it easier for families to bring in children for photos with Santa and avoid long wait times,  a new reservation system for a specific date and time for Santa photos will be available through www.northbrookcourt.com. For a small donation to Orphans of the Storm, gift wrapping is available.  A new mobile app helps shoppers find a place to park, specific store locations through a directory, retail offers and holiday events.  Click on the Events tab on the website where there is a link to download the GGP Mall app.
At the Chicago Botanic Gardens shoppers not only purchase beautiful items in their Gift Shop, but also enjoy the Wonderland Express featuring 750,000 lights and 10 garden-scale trains winding their way over 1,300 feet of track with landscapes of 80 miniature versions of Chicago signature landmarks.  Check the website www.chicagobotanicalgardens.org/ for information on holiday concerts, wine tastings, holiday market, ice sculpture displays and seasonal activities.
The Northbrook Park District invites everyone to a free Holiday Skating Recital on Thursday, December 15, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Northbrook Sports Center featuring skaters performing to holiday music.  Visit www.nbparks.org for a list of all the special activities.
