Chamber Welcomes Three New Board Members

The Chamber Board will welcome three new individuals who will fill the terms of Board members who have vacated their seats. The new Board members will begin their term of service in January 2017.
Stephen Barr, Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel

stephen-barr-headshotRecently appointed General Manager at the Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel, Stephen has been in the hospitality industry for over 10 years. In his position he is responsible for all hotel operations. Previously, he was the Renaissance Rooms Division Manager, a position he held since January 2013. Prior to the Renaissance, he was the Rooms Division Manager at the Radisson Bloomington by Mall of America/Water Park of America, in Bloomington, Minnesota. During his tenure at the Radisson he held various Operations Management positions as he continued to develop his career.
Stephen is active in multiple fundraising efforts throughout the year for the Give Kids The World Organization, the Renaissance designated charity. “The Renaissance is Northbrook’s largest hotel and has always been a tremendous supporter of the Chamber,” he comments. “I look forward to being personally more involved in the Northbrook community, as well as continuing the hotel’s valued relationship with the organization.”

Hania Fuschetto, Glenbrook Hospital

Hania FuschettoHania has been at NorthShore University Healthsystems in the capacity of Community Relations or Community Wellness for 21 years. The position has evolved as the value of community networking and collaboration has increased. Through her position Hania ensures that the hospital’s outreach efforts are aligned with NorthShore’s identified community health needs. Primarily her responsibility is to be the Hospital’s liaison to the community, serving as the eyes and ears to communicate what is impacting the business community, residents and the underserved. She also gathers information to report community outreach efforts to the state and federal government.
Hania has experience with a number of area Chambers, most recently serving as Executive Committee Vice Chair for the Highland Park Chamber and on economic development panels for the Glenview Chamber. She also recently served on an Advisory Committee for the Highland Park District as well as the First Bank of Highland Park Community Relations Advisory Committee. Other positions she has held include CPR, First Aid and wellness educator as well as facilitator for Diversity and Inclusion with Learning and Development workshop for NorthShore. “I look forward to deepening my understanding of the community through my board service,” comments Hania. “The hospital, the largest health care provider in the immediate area, has a long standing commitment to the communities it serves, and through collaboration I look forward to working together to create positive change.”

James J. King, Northbrook Bank and Trust

annual-meeting-2011-033Jim has served the Deerfield/Northbrook area as a banking professional with a number of financial institutions for over 35 years. He joined Northbrook Bank and Trust in 2009 as a member of the commercial lending and senior retail management teams. His is now a Senior Vice President, serving in a new role as the Business Development Officer for the bank. He is also Community Reinvestment Officer. Previously he held senior banking positions at Fifth Third Bank for five years and LaSalle Bank for seven years.
Born and raised in Glenview, Jim also has a long history of civic involvement beginning with Treasurer and Board Member at Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook, President and Treasurer at Rotary Club of Lincolnshire and Board Chair of the Northbrook Chamber of Commerce. Recently Jim served as Board Director and Treasurer at the North Suburban YMCA, and member at the Northbrook Rotary Club and Northbrook Merchants Association. Jim has also served as a member of the Finance Committee at Divine Word Missionaries.
