“Find It and Win” Contest Sparks Holiday Shopping Campaign

“Find It and Win” Contest Sparks Holiday Shopping Campaign

Local shoppers have an extra incentive to visit Northbrook stores and restaurants this holiday season: a Shop Local contest with weekly drawings for $50 gift cards. It’s just one element of a multifaceted marketing campaign presented by the Chamber in partnership with the Village of Northbrook.

The Chamber’s Find It in Northbrook shop local campaign began ramping up in November with a coupon promotion linked to the Illuminate Northbrook event.  Meanwhile, Chamber staff members have been visiting local businesses to share info about the new Find It and Win contest that began on Black Friday: shoppers who spend at least $20 at any Northbrook shop or restaurant between November 25 and December 23 can send in receipts to be entered in weekly prize drawings. Winners will receive a $50 gift card from the Northbrook business of their choice.  Details are available on the Find It in Northbrook website, along with a holiday shopping guide describing local retail destinations.

The contest will be heavily promoted on the Find It in Northbrook Facebook and Instagram platforms, along with original content from a wide variety of businesses. Chamber staff members are visiting locations around the Village to shoot photos and videos with an emphasis on holiday gift ideas, special events, and promotions. Businesses that would like to schedule a visit or send in their own photos should contact Carolyn Gessner for assistance.

In addition, the Northbrook Community Mobile Text Program is available to help businesses promote themselves at no additional cost. During the holiday season, weekly text messages will be sent to a subscriber base of over 2000 local shoppers, leading to a directory of local businesses with promotional info and website links. The free program is available to any retail, restaurant or service business in the Village of Northbrook. Businesses who would like to participate or update their information should contact Carolyn Gessner.

The holiday season is vitally important to local retailers, providing a boost in revenue that will determine the health of their businesses well into the new year.  Their success carries over to the rest of the community, with 68 cents of every dollar spent in Northbrook staying local. The partnership between the Chamber and the Village benefits everyone by building a stronger business climate. Enjoy the holiday season – and share the joy by shopping local!
