Through the Chamber, members have a wide array of options to promote their products and services ranging from print to web to social media at their disposal, all at no charge. Make note of guidelines and deadlines for each of the following communications tools.
Business News and Views – Newsletter
The Business Briefs page is a member favorite! It highlights member events, programs, fundraisers and other updates. If you have opened a new location or won an industry award – share it! Send us 50 words or less. The newsletter is mailed to nearly 1,000 business and civic leaders and is published on the Chamber website for further outreach to the public. Deadline: 10th of the month prior
On the first business day of each month, over 1,800 Chamber contacts receive our electronic bulletin, e-Announcements. These news tidbits can include links to items such as newly designed websites, event registrations, YouTube videos about your business or news articles. Due to space limitations, announcements are limited to 40 words. Deadline: by the 25th of the month.
Facebook & LinkedIn
Connect, create visibility and keep fellow members up to date with any last-minute events or news. In addition to Chamber activities, our Facebook page is dedicated to news and announcements from members, as is our LinkedIn page. Members can “tag” themselves in photos or share the posts on their page for added reach. As there are no deadline requirements for either Facebook or LinkedIn, it’s ideal for last minute news.
Northbrook Shopping Elf
The Chamber manages the “Elf page” which features special sales and hot tips on the Northbrook shopping and dining scene. The page is a joint project with the Village of Northbrook, offering Northbrook retailers and restaurants an opportunity to show off special sales or menu offerings from Northbrook based businesses.
Members Only – Chamber Website
Log on to the members-only portal to share and connect with other members. Each member should have his or her own login name and password, which will allow access to the portal. Once there, members can post an event with pictures or graphics along with other relevant information of any length. It is important to note that the Members Only calendar is only visible to Chamber members. Deadline: none, member driven.
