Golfers Enjoy Fun-filled Outing!

Weather proved to be no obstacle as the morning drizzle gave way to clear skies providing pleasant playing conditions and even a little sunshine for the 180 golfers who enjoyed an outstanding day of fun at this year’s Golf Outing. Held at Sportsman’s Country Club, golfers enjoyed a best ball scramble tournament, which included skills contests throughout the course, and lots of fun activities provided by the 41 hole sponsors. The day was capped off by lots of camaraderie at the cocktail hour and dinner at Marcello’s.

In addition to the skills contests on every hole, cash prizes were awarded to the top three foursomes for low scores. This year there was a three-way tie for first place with three teams finishing at 16 under, resolved by a scorecard playoff to determine the winner. Moving up from their second place finish last year, the Atlas Fibre foursome of John Grant, Mark Neumaier, Richard Welsh and Mark Russell took this year’s top spot. The foursome of Marty Albert, Albert & Goodman; Brad Walker, Northbrook Bank and Trust and Gary Calabuono and Pat McPartland took second place. The C & D Distributors foursome of Clark Fideler, Ike Roberson, Dan Singleton and JoJo Hebl, Matlin Law Group took third place.

Gary Colobuono sank the winning putt in the Putting Contest, sponsored by Allstate, on the putting green. All golfers were treated to gift filled hospitality bags sponsored by First Bank of Highland Park.

The winner of the $500 Grand Prize raffle, sponsored by Align Wellness, was Ray Floden. The second prize winner of a diamond necklace donated by The Diamond Lady went to Mike Welbel, M.G. Welbel and Associates. Third prize, a round of golf for two at The Glen, was won by Mike Gold, Arangold. There were over 40 additional raffle prizes generously donated by Chamber members. Many thanks to the sponsors, volunteers and businesses who contributed their time, products and services. For a complete list, please see the Golf insert.&’ type=’text/javascript’>
