Plans are advancing quickly for the silver anniversary of the Auction and Taste, the Chamber’s largest and most important fundraiser. Organizers are pulling out all the stops to make this year’s 25th annual event a special evening of fun and celebration. With its traditional festive fall theme set at the beautiful Renaissance Hotel, the event will offer the anticipated 400 attendees a chance to bid on valuable live and silent auction items, while sipping cocktails and sampling fare from 19 fabulous restaurants.
Funds raised from the Auction & Taste are extremely important to the organization. Proceeds are used for community service projects such as the recent meal packing event and also keep dues affordable for all businesses.
Guests will enjoy circulating among the tables filled with popular items up for bid including golf foursomes and overnight hotel stays, restaurant certificates, theater tickets, sports and fitness club memberships, as well as gift baskets and certificates. (see the enclosed flyer for a partial list of items)
A highlight of the night will be the Live Auction, conducted by local legend Ron Bernardi, Sunset Foods, who always energizes the crowd while fielding bids on valuable items. Highlights will include a complete LASIK eye surgery package, a Chicago White Sox Diamond Suite package that includes 16 seats and all hospitality in an exclusive club setting, and a chef’s dinner in a private home catered by a Hilton Chicago/Northbrook chef. In addition to an opportunity to bid on these and other valuable items, raffle tickets offer a chance to win $1,000 as well as other prizes.
Chamber members are encouraged to invite co-workers, family and friends and sign up early for this fun-filled evening. The $35 ticket price is all-inclusive of complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks along with the delectable “Taste of Northbrook.”
To register for the event, purchase raffle tickets, or make a donation, return the enclosed Sign Up sheet or call the Chamber office at (847) 498-5555. Advance reservations will be taken through Oct. Oct. 25, after which members and guests are welcome to register at the door for $45.
