Holiday Commercial Expands Reach to Digital Audience

With the holiday season fast approaching, the Chamber is gearing up to spread the word about Northbrook as an outstanding destination for shopping and dining. The message will be communicated through the commercial produced by the Chamber and Village, targeting an even wider audience than in the past.

The 30 second commercial showcases Northbrook’s full range of shopping and dining options, and what’s unique and special about shopping locally including the high end luxury stores and the independent boutiques that aren’t found in the average mall.

This year, working with Comcast, the spot will be aired nearly 3,000 times in three north shore zones: Highland Park, Glenview-Evanston (which includes Northbrook) and Libertyville. The spot will target adult viewers on a variety of different networks including USA, TBS, AMC, HGTV, CNN, BRAVO and ESPN. The spot will also receive airtime during key NCAA football and basketball games.

In addition, the ad will also be seen on websites and mobile devices. It’s no secret that consumers are turning more and more to their mobile devices, particularly their smartphones and tablets to watch TV and video. Statistics show that 71% of adults ages 18 – 34 watch TV online or on mobile devices. Taking advantage of Comcast’s new multi-media advertising options, the Northbrook commercial will have the potential to pop up on over 400 network related websites. The ads will be “non-skippable,” which means the viewer must watch the ad entirely before their requested video will continue.

The commercial is expected to make nearly 300,000 impressions on the targeted audience of women ages 35 – 65.
