Leadership Change Coming to Plan Commission
Continuing a year of transition at Village Hall, Northbrook Plan Commission Chair Marcia Franklin will be stepping down from the Commission in May. She announced her intention to retire, after 20 years as a Commissioner, at the April 20 meeting.
“I always said I would only serve two terms as Chair,” said Franklin. “I want to give [incoming Village President Kathryn Ciesla] the chance to make the appointment.”
Current President Sandy Frum commented, “I’m so appreciative of Marcia’s service to the Village of Northbrook. She’s dealt with some difficult issues during her tenure on the Plan Commission, first as a member and then as its Chair, and always been a consummate professional and unfailing advocate for the community. She is the epitome of a public servant. I know she will be missed.”
Plan Commissioners are volunteers appointed by the Village President with approval of the Trustees and serve four year terms. No decision has been announced as to who will succeed Franklin as Chair.
