September marks the beginning of the nomination process to fill anticipated openings for the Chamber’s 2022 Board of Directors. Individuals who wish to suggest a candidate, including themselves, should contact President Tensley Garris, email@example.com.
The Board is the Chamber’s governing body, with representatives from a diverse collection of industries. Directors meet on the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 a.m. to review the status and plans for the organization, setting goals and policies that determine the Chamber’s direction. Board members are asked to commit to a three-year term and may serve up to two consecutive terms. A list of current Board members can be found on the Chamber website.
The Board’s Nominating Committee will review suggested candidates in September and determine a slate to fill Board vacancies. Consideration will be given to the individual’s depth of involvement with the Chamber, participation in community activities, personal ties to Northbrook, and interest in advocating for the business community.
The slate of selected candidates will be published on the Chamber website on October 15. Following the release of the slate, Chamber members may add a name for consideration by submitting a petition signed by 28 qualified members by Friday, October 29.
