The Chamber’s nominating committee is hard at work considering nominations to fill vacancies on its 2023 Board of Directors. The committee includes Board Chair Julie Lerman, Treasurer Robyn Kole, Board member Ron Goldblatt, and members-at-large Gail Eisenberg and Richard Rivkin.
The Chamber Board meets monthly at 7:30 a.m. to review the organization’s financial status, vote on new members, guide the organization, and discuss other topics. They also have the opportunity to hear reports from local civic bodies including the Village, Library, Park District, and School District #28.
Board members, who represent the perspectives of a wide range of business sizes and industries, commit to a three-year term. In addition to attending Board meetings, they participate in Chamber events and promote the benefits of the organization to prospective members and the community.
The committee will present a slate of candidates at the Board meeting on October 7. The slate of nominees will be published in the November newsletter. Alternative nominations may be made within ten days of that publication by submitting petitions signed by five percent of the full NCCI membership. If no alternative nominations are received in that period, the slate will be approved at the November 10 Board meeting.
Board participation is just one way that members can become involved in supporting the organization. For more information about the Ambassador program, volunteer activities, and other opportunities, contact Executive Director Kathi Quinn.
