Individual tickets are available online for $25 through September 4, after which tickets will be available at the gate for $30 (cash only). Northbrook-based businesses are eligible for a special bulk discount of 20 tickets for $400. Arrangements for a bulk ticket purchase must be made before September 4 through Madeline Farrell, Assistant to the Village Manager, at email@example.com.
Shermerfest, September 15
The Northbrook Historical Society turns back time for the 41st Annual Shermerfest event on Sunday, September 15. Plein Air Festival, September 26-29
For the third year, Northbrook’s streets and parks will be the subject of artistic interpretation as acclaimed painters participate in the third annual Plein Air Festival. Residents and visitors will have the opportunity to see artists at work outdoors, creating paintings of local scenes and landmarks. According to the Northbrook Arts Commission, “Plein Air” refers to paintings “executed outdoors (in the “open air”) and representing a direct response to the scene or subject in front of the artist.” Over 50 invited artists come to Northbrook from all over the midwest, painting at sites that inspire their creativity.
Residents are encouraged to watch the artists work; location information and other updates may be obtained by texting NBART to 888777. Finished artwork will be on exhibit and available for purchase at the Village Green Center during the festival and the following week. Additional information can be found at .
