The future of Francesca’s Hole in the Wall and the neighboring Next Door Bistro has been put into question as the owners of the restaurants’ site have put the property up for sale. Marketing materials for 236-250 Skokie Blvd. describe the 1.68 acre lot as a “redevelopment opportunity” zoned for permitted uses as restaurants, offices, auto dealerships, and general retail. According to listing agent David Pernice of SVN Chicago Commercial, the current leases on the property will end within the next couple years; it remains to be seen whether a new owner’s plans would include the longtime restaurants.
