Three New Directors Join Chamber Board

The Chamber’s Board of Directors will welcome three new faces beginning in January 2021:  Lee Brooks, Bell Flavors & Fragrances; Mark DeBartolo, Len Roofing and Remodeling; and Amy Kahhat, First Bank of Highland Park.  These individuals join our 20-member Board to help guide the Chamber’s direction as the organization transitions out of its COVID-emergency operations.

Lee Brooks, Bell Flavors & Fragrances

Lee is Vice President of Global Operations at Northbrook-based Bell Flavors and Fragrances. In this role, he has the responsibility to drive major activities that integrate Bell’s manufacturing teams to stay on the cutting edge while delivering high-quality products to every customer. In addition to his many duties, he is also responsible for Regulatory, Capital Engineering, Demand Planning, Compliance and Product Safety. Lee has over 25 years of engineering and manufacturing experience.  A graduate of the University of South Alabama, Lee received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Among other professional certifications, Lee is certified as a Six Sigma Green Belt.  He loves the outdoors and especially enjoys cycling and hiking along the beautiful forest preserve trails. Lee and his wife, Lynn, reside in Wheeling, IL.


Mark DeBartolo, Len Roofing & Remodeling

A regular at Chamber networking events, Mark is the owner of Len Roofing & Remodeling, providing roofing, siding, gutter, window, and sheet metal installation as well as light interior remodeling.  The company serves clients all over the North Shore and surrounding suburbs.  He purchased the business in 2004, following graduation from Northern Illinois University and several years working in sales for another roofing company.  Mark is well-known in the community for his volunteer efforts, including participation in Hunger Resource Network and youth sports coaching and sponsorship.  He will complete his first four-year term on the Northbrook Plan Commission in 2021, which has included work on the Village’s new Affordable Housing policies as well as numerous private development projects.  He lives in Northbrook with his wife and their two young children.


Amy Kahhat, First Bank of Highland Park

As a Vice President / Multi Market Manager for First Bank of Highland Park, Amy manages the client-facing Retail Banking team at the Highland Park and the Northbrook locations. She focuses on day-to-day operations, leading initiatives within her department to enhance the client experience.  In growing the Personal Banking team, she combines extensive banking experience with a firm understanding of human resources; her educational background includes a MA in Human Resource Development from Northeastern Illinois University.  Amy values involvement in the community, including volunteering for Glenview School District 34 Citizen’s Finance Advisory Committee, Bernie’s Book Bank, and other local organizations.
